Computer Condition Grading System
Grade A
Quick impression: Excellent condition; very lightly used and in great shape.
● May have any of the following:
○ Very light or minor scratches (nearly unnoticeable)
○ Minor keyboard wear
○ A minor nick on the aluminum frame that doesn’t detract from overall excellence
○ Good quality LCD, no white marks
○ Very minor hair scratch on display, but no keyboard marks or delamination
(generally screens will be like new)
Grade B
Quick impression: Good condition; will show normal signs of wear and tear but still in pretty good shape.
● May have any of the following:
○ Nicks and normal signs of wear along aluminum edges
○ A couple visible scratches from normal use (no excessive scratching)
○ Minor scratches on the display, but no keyboard marks or delamination (generally screens will be like new)
○ Very minor white marks on the LCD
○ Normal wear on keyboard from use, keys may be a bit shiny
○ Bottom plate may have slightly (but not excessive) heavier wear such as dings/dents so long as the rest of the device is in good shape
Grade C
Grade D
Quick impression: Fair condition; in okay shape but may have a couple noticeable heavier blemishes.
● May have any of the following:
○ More noticeable scratches, nicks, and marks
○ Dents or pressed corners (none too severe)
○ Palm rest and keyboard wear
○ Marks from stickers or slight discoloration
○ Heavier wear on the bottom plate as long as the rest of the device is in okay shape
○ Some visible white marks on the LCD
Quick impression: Acceptable condition; functional but not in great shape. Will generally have a singular instance of heavy frame damage or heavier general wear and tear.
● May have any of the following:
○ Heavy corner dents that slightly deform the frame or ports (as long as ports are still functional)
○ Heavy scratching on the aluminum
○ Pressed in corners on the lid that still allow the device to close and open properly
○ Bare spots in finish from heavier wear and tear
○ Keyboard marks or scratching on the display
○ A few visible white marks on the display
